Re: La Classic 2008

When attending the French Open in Quebec, Canada I stopped to have a bite in a German restaurant.
I ordered Italian Pizza, with a Greek salad, some French Bread, and flushed it all with Czech Beer. They had no Turkish coffee.
After I left a hefty tip, an elderly waitres wanted to give me a French kiss, which I declined.
I did not need to go to Greese, France, Italy, or Czech republic , I managed all of that in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Is it really so important that a hunk of fermented flower is called a French stick, or that a tossed salad with some dressing is Greek etc ??? Or that a disgusting localy made brew is called a Pilsener ?
Does it really matter who sanctioned La Classiquedequebec. It took place, it was grand. The weather was lousy, too much snow.
Any other observations, petty critique ?
Does WDC need be in charge of everything ? If CDF sanctioned it, and it is OK with IDSF, what else do they need ? Hasn't WDC crowned Warren their World Amateur champion, was it approved by IDSF ? What is your point ? What is your Grief ?
At least I have a valid grievance that I could not get my Turkish Coffee, but they had Irish
"The whole title seems a joke, and it seems that apart from Canada, nobody much else attended anyway. "
The whole title seems a joke, and it seems that apart from me all customers in this German restaurant were Chinese, nobody much else ... anyway.
By the way do you recall the World Trophy which took Place in Montreal last year ? We did not considered this World Trophy a joke. It was a good attempt to make a go of it under a big title; they had mostly finals with mostly Canadians...nobody talked of failure and made fun, why would you ?
