I shall ask differently:    " Is this all not  just about positioning itself in the dancesport  industry, or,  is it all just a pure bull s#it  perpetrated by a bunch of amateurish "businessmen"  ?

Don't even mention the division , and they will  die and disappear, no need for WDC make a mention, professionals know where they belong and where they should advance and  further their careers.

Amen.

@webminder: You are absolutely right ! If you look at the comps, couples and judges, that was very poor, espec. the couples. So can I say: "Peter lost his empire and another battle against King Donnie ?!"

What battle ?  There was no battle, just a big talk and mighty words, and much hot blood   .  It was bull sh#t right from the start -  "independent:, with no ties to..etc.."

Same bull sh#t as the attempt to create and then promote  the Amateur League, which was just a sorry reaction to the  above  bullsh#t.

Dancers deserve better from their leaders,  whom they support, whom they try impress  and  who  use  and play dancers as if puppets.

Mmmm ..

...Webminder -

I agree with the first, not sure about the second. From all reports it appears that the Blackpool semi-final had 6 out of 12 from the WDC Amateur league and, if accurate, would appear to be very very significant. In 12 months time-?... Maybe a final full?

Also, if IDSF fight and WDC respond, IDSF are powerful, but is it not possible that, since their power is in their numbers, that WDC can only win, since they will gain exactly that- mass numbers?

I'm not involved, but follow this avidly.

One thing I do think also- IPDSC will recover the domain but the damage is done.

Just some outside thoughts.

In the position of Carlos Freitag, even he always says that the IDSF has nothing to do with the IPDSC, I will stop this bullsh... Please let us come all to the table - IDSF and WDC - and discuss the best !!! for dancing .

webminder I am sure that were you a member of IDU or  IDSA or one of the growing number of Amateurs refusing to bow to threats and intimidation you would feel very differently about the Amateur League.  At both the UK Open and British Open supporters of the Amateur League enjoyed much success reaching quarters, semis and finals. The WDC Am League came into being for entirely different reasons to the IPDSC and the Am League is a real opportunity for Pro and Amateur to unite for the common good.

So far as battles are concerned not for one moment do I believe that Donnie Burns would use dancesport for personal reasons. Mr Burns is more interested in working for the good of all and has shown this consistently with his attempts to engage the IDSF in discussion. The real guilty are those who for personal position and ego have chosen to break away from a united Professional world and create ineffective second class bodies subservient to the IDSF and their national bodies.
