Hi, I'm James.

I am looking for an ambitious, hard-working, partner with whom to practise and compete in ballroom and/or latin. Looking to enter at Novice/Intermediate and work up from there. I may also be interested in competing at ISTD bronze-level medallist competitions: I'd prefer to dance with a partner, rather than a teacher. ...although saying this, the medallist system is not my long term goal.

I'm 5' 8", 55kg and have a slim frame. I'm currently having lessons at "The Dance Lab" in Putney with various teachers. I try to practise twice a week outside of lessons, and would be looking for somoene who could commit to this (or more!).

I started off as a social dancer, and then I was approached to compete for the first time in same-sex competitions in 2015 as a follower (in Intermediate C class). I have since converted to leading, and spent 18 months trying to improve my technical rigour with strong focus on solo practise, in all 10 dances. I have obtained first places at both latin and ballroom in local medallist competitions, and competed at the ISTD Grand Finals for the first time in Nov 2016, at which I was recalled in Silver/Gold U35 couples events .

I am also a qualified Scottish dance instructor - a dance form which uses technique from ballet.
